at least once a year, we will go on a road trip together and this year we went farther and longer than the previous years. we left home on april 20, 2010.. 1 day after i got back from philippines..
we wanted Dad to join us too but as always, he declined bc he wanted to stay home with his dogs and watched out the houses. so, there were 9 of us hitting the road together.. (mom, joon, pae, phun, jump, jiab, py, kla and i)
we left home at 5 am, in hoping to arrive hua-hin before it got dark. when it was light, we were still driving in songkhla bc our first stop was at a gas station not so far from home. we stopped for phun to change nappy.. and along the way, we stopped way too many times for phun and py to change thier nappies, use toilet, eat, be cleaned up after vomitting.. it was okay bc my bro could get more rest from driving the long way..

and along the way, there were few more stops before we reached hua-hin
we stopped to have noodle as lunch in tabsakae, prachuabkirikhan..the shop owner was one of jiab's relatives. so the stop was to visit her and her family too..
around 3 pm, we finally arrived the hotel in hau-hin. it was my second time going there in 2 months.. the town was worth revisiting; touristy but so humble and lovely. i didn't do so many activities like i did in march. i was here just to chill out & spend time with family. life was slow in this trip..
after settling down in our rooms, we changed to swimming suit and headed to the beach and the pool..
we went to the beach first bc the tide was still low and the sunlight was getting soft then..
it was phun's second time to the beach but he was still scared of the waves.. they still looked like monsters to him.. he looked around for help every time his chubby feet were touched by the playful waves.. in no time, you will be beach boy!!
we didn't want phun and py to be in the late afternoon sun far too long bc we didn't want them to get sick on the first day of our road trip, so we moved to the pool.. phun was happier this time.. and, it was time for py and i to get darker again.. as we, auntie and niece, are sunsoakers, we didn't mind getting our dark skin darker..
..pool and beach times are really our happy time sharing together.. i guess we are fish family..

after swimming and playing at the pool, it was time to get ready for dinner..
books for guests on the first floor.. so many good books but most of them were not in english!
phun was both hungry and sleepy at the same time.. his weary eyes half closed while his dad was feeding him dinner.. poor boy!.. he was too exhausted on the first day of his first road trip.. 6 more days to come, boy!!

after dinner, we headed to plearnwarn, a newly manmade tourist site in hua-hin. the place displayed old way of thai life. we saw and bought some toys from here. they were toys we used to play when we were young.. walking from shops to shops, we thought of our old grocery store mom and dad used to run when we were kids...
walking in plearnwan at night was like walking in a temple fair in rural areas of thailand. there were ferris wheel, various kinds of games and old thai snacks and shops, which all of them made thai people think back to the time when they were younger.. i am so glad that mom joined us in this trip..
